With more than 72 seasons of storied Baseball history, Wichita State called on
Paramount to provide a variety of services, as part of the company’s graphic solutions
abilities presented to a diverse client base. The Shockers wanted to highlight many of
their conference successes, along with a rich tradition of student athletes.
Paramount provided a completely new look that included creative needs, project
development, fabrication, and final installation slated for early 2020.
Using elements and shapes native to the game of baseball, this project included a main
lobby ‘Shocker Baseball” welcome wall using tufted tiles laid in the shape of baseball
seams. To highlight their All-Americans, baseball bats were cut to recognize each of
their individual names, and players who played MLB are shown in the shape of a
home-plates. The Shockers “Road to Omaha” wall covers each of their appearances in
the College World Series, highlighted by their National Championship season and
leaving them room to expand. Finally, to complete the look, dimensional lettering and
branding was added throughout the facility to give it a complete and finished look.
